Breakblog: Breaking the blog fast

After a long break from my blog, I've decided to break the fast and blog again. Since last December, I've started a new job that I love. It's been a good move. Overall it will be better for me and my family. Still, I'm not planning to write much about my job here because this blog is about my family.

Amazingly, we are now on the verge of summer break. The school year is ending on June 10. We have not fully set up our plans for the summer. This is driving me crazy, but I should be used to this by now. We hope to visit Massachusetts and see family and friends in August.

Several weeks ago we celebrated Owen's fifth birthday. We hosted a fun pizza party with 24 people. It was a lot of fun.

Owen is starting to learn to speak Spanish. He is enrolled in a dual language program. He was resistant at first and still fights it sometimes. I hope to keep him in this program so he will be bilingual.

Zoe is has formed strong friendships (with mostly boys) in school and at the Artscenter after school program. She is growing fast. She traveled by plane by herself for the first time this year. She flew to Boston and spent spring break with my family. It was a big success and we're hoping she can do it again soon.

My husband is working too much, but we're used to that too. The economy is largely to blame. He's not turning down any projects.

I'm looking forward to the future and happier than I've been in a while. We're overjoyed with our new President and the direction that the country is going. It is encouraging and hopeful.
